We have a rental in Gulf Shores that we use a local management company or bookings. They set the cleaning fees. We, as the owners do not make a single penny off of the cleaning fees. Our management company charges $135. That is extremely reasonable for having a renter leave for 11 AM and have another checking in at 3 PM the same day. The funny thing is, the ones that complain about the cleaning fee are the same ones complaining about the cleanliness of of the condo that they just checked in at!!

I understand y’all need to charge a cleaning fee but it doesnt need to be 300-500 bucks.

Yeah it really is bullshite. I look at those places instead of hotels when on vacation and there are a lot of rentals that charge outrageous fees for cleaning and other shite. I get why they do it, but damn don't advertise your rental place for $XXXX a night and then add in $200-$500 in fees afterwards.

But yes I avoid those places with outrageous fees. Also, how come a hotel doesn't charge outrageous cleaning fees as well?

I don’t end up booking the place if it cost that much.

Sometimes it's a serious cash grab, whether by owner or agency renting house out for owner.

Lol, no. Not in cleaning fees.

First off, if no one sleeps in the bed the sheets last forever. Sheets and towels are very expensive, towels can be $15/ each and sheets $100-200 each.

Beach cleaning people are very expensive. How much is a cleaner in Nola or BR? $25/ hour? Now double that because there’s 4X
higher need in a beach town.

How much is a shirt to dry clean? Commercial laundry is around $1/ lb. any idea how much a wet towel weighs?

What about the toilet paper, soaps, etc.? That’s about $50 per new guest depending on size. All of those items are about $.50 to $1 each. It adds up.

Lol. I'm paying $180 this week for my maid. I'd kill for $25 an hour.

I'm staying at a place and have an extra day pop up to extend my vacation. The vrbo that I'm at is booked on that day, but there is some that have the day open in the building. The actual rental is 209, but comes to over 500 with "fees". frick that.

The nearby hotel is 200.

not an idiot?

Why would you clean when you’re paying for it?

Was in Seattle a few weeks ago, and ABnB was higher than hotel rooms because of the cleaning fees.
