Nogales Mayor Arturo Garino told FOX 10 sister station KOLD-TV that according to other Nogales city officials, a person was heading south into Mexico when the person apparently tried to hit and run over a CBP agent, and an agent shot the driver.

Does BP even try to stop you when going south? Every time I've been you only deal with BP when reentering.

Ever party down there? Coco Loco's and Lord Black's were the spots 15 years ago.

You can be stopped going into Mexico. US law allows for inspections to and from the country, though these checks are usually on random occasions. You would be amazed at the stuff found when people aren't expecting that inspection.

You have to be a special kind of dumbass to smuggle something into a Mexican border town. You can find just about anything you want dirt cheap and with minimal effort.

Yeah. Mexican officials don't really screen for anything so people really aren't expecting Border Patrol agents and CBP officers to search them. But when we did- damn. Everything from million dollar bulk cash drug payments, smuggled corporate trade secrets on flash drives, stolen military night vision goggles and assorted weapons, etc.

I once got a dude with 30+ unpackaged dildos in his backpack. I didn't seize them because, I mean, it's not illegal but damn. I tried for a solid five minutes to get him to tell me what he had nearly three dozen loose dildos in his bag but he was having none of it. Wouldn't break.

This makes sense.
