Once i was traveling with my parents as a teenager. We stopped at a gas station and there were some people begging at the intersection. Later that night we stayed at a motel, and those same people were staying there too.
Just my 2 cents, not saying it’s representative of all of them.

100% these people are organized. Stop giving them money.
Circle K on Siegen at Industriplex has a full-time beggar sitting beside the front door. I'm there often enough to watch the shift-change, when the beggar meets with the blonde in cut-offs on the side of the building to get the cash sorted while his replacement gets settled by the door.

was at the Race Trac and a car pulls up with about 5 people in the car and one gets out and comes up to me asking for gas money so they can get back to Georgia
It's why I don't bring cash with me to the gas station.
You know that even if you have cash with you....you can still just say "no" or "I don't have any cash"

That’s another thing. Some of them, especially around Baton Rouge, can be pretty aggressive, I think some people give to them because they feel pressured/scared/ just want to make them go away. This isn’t the ones on the side of an exit but rather the ones that approach people at gas stations.

Holy shite.
My OP was referring to this exact shift change. And the girl sitting by the door was a blonde wearing cut-off jeans.

If you are capable of standing on the road in 100 degree summertime heat you could at least qualify for a job at a fast food restaurant or pick up carts outside the Walmart or a roofer position nailing roofs onto houses.

Shift change a-hole, mind your business.

My last job I had business cards for myself. I would always carry extra in my wallet for just such an occasion. Their eyes would light up as they see me reach for my wallet, then when I pull out a card and hand it to them and tell them to call me about putting in an application, it was ALWAYS "oh I just need a few bucks." "Well, so do I, thats why I work."

They pull this shite all over town. There’s a team that works the gas station by Academy on Siegen. I watch them pull the same routine every time. People gotta stop giving these buttholes money.
