That's about all I wore in HS and college. I think they are made in Thailand or something now and not the same quality. Funny how all of that stuff has come back in style with the younger crowd though.

Yeah, my worst was one of those backyard swing/play sets made from a bagillion wood slats that had a rock wall, slide, elevated fort, etc.

One of my neighbors got one of those. Me and 2 other neighbors went over to the guy's house, drank, and helped him put it together.

Give me a ballpark of how long the large one took? One of these is on my to-do list

Getting started shortly on mine.

One thing I've learned is to ALWAYS look at the instructions. "oh this looks easy" never ends well.

"why do these two pieces have a different number, they look the same"

Two hours later....frick

It only took a couple of hours by myself.

It was during the day though. Maybe an hour for the trampoline part and another 1 1/2 for the side netting part.

Santa brought us a fort/play set one year and was kind enough to leave my dad a note letting him know where the instructions and the tools were.

No way he was getting that assembled over night and he made it easy on himself

My daughter had one of these... Everyone of those parts were wire twisted to a cardboard piece...

My son would take it apart and I had to put it back together too many times... I hated that thing. The day she outgrew it was the best day of my life...

Thankfully, yet in a way sadly, my kids are older (12 &19) so I don’t have to worry about this sorta thing any longer. But I have plenty of war stories from Christmas’s past. From Lego Castles, to basketball goals, various Barbie paraphernalia. But the one that stands out as the absolute worst was this little indoor toddler trampoline I had to assemble on Christmas Eve 2011. It was similar to this...

Instead of having springs, it had one long bungee cord that was laced all the way around. Whoever designed this thing was an a-hole and made the cord about 1” too short to reach without the use of a come along, crane, or other mechanical device. I’ve never cussed a Christmas gift as much as I did that blasted thing. And to top it all off, I don’t think my daughter played on that thing more than twice.

My daughter had this exact castle. And you’re right. It was a pain in the arse.

My favorite. The annual race against time. Will you get it done before you drink too much? Only time will tell.
