Here's a good clip of Jim Norton explaining context to some perpetually offended fat girl.

That was great

Chris Rock is talking to a largely black audience and playing on their fear that the police are targeting them. He's suggesting the police kill a white kid every so often to cover their tracks. Then he just takes that bit to the extreme with a white mother crying on TV and whatnot.

He's literally riffing on the idea of equality. It's an amazing way of extending the idea frankly.

Perhaps, huh? Perhaps you could see the irony in everything you're saying now and just stop. Your post is an utter failure of an attempt to get everyone's pitchforks out in a protest full of tender feelings and nonsense.

frick you, man. You know that I meant people comment on whether or not somebody deserved to be shot regardless of race. Nobody laughs about it, but I find nothing wrong with commenting on whether or not a person is deserving in getting shot due to their actions.

It's like watching Larry Holmes fight a baby. Norton completely dismantles her 1000% emotional arguments.

Exactly. He's using a tough topic to highlight how ridiculous true equality would be when you only measure results rather than opportunity.

Or you can believe he truly wants white kids killed, whatever floats your boat.

Meh. In 2018, black kids have at least the same opportunity as everyone else, if not outright favourability. It's not other people's fault that thug culture is shite.

I actually watched part of this show the other day. Meh. I can handle some race stuff, but the entire show should not be about how bad white people are.

Dear god I don't even know what you're arguing anymore. Hypothetical children are more important than real children as long as they don't deserve being shot? If you get that upset about a comedian joking, on stage, about shooting children being shot, I'd think you'd be of the belief that no child really deserves to be shot unless they are actively assaulting someone.

What a bizarre conversation

It pains me that we have to explain it. I, as little baby Jesus as my witness, do not understand how people could not pick up on the tone of that bit that was linked. It makes me think they have Asperger's or something.

This is usually where black and female comics usually develop their crutch. The greatest comics don't let race or gender dominate their material. As soon as you do that, you limit the amount of people you can relate to. DL Hughley and George Lopez are prime examples. Good comics that can't let go of the crutch.

No, they just want to be offended. They act like snowflakes but then change the definition of the word so it won't apply to them.

Can we at least agree that the OP doesn’t even realize that his reaction is part of the humor of the joke (for better and worse)

I mean, come on dude.... no one wants to see more kids killed.... but you exposing yourself? A little amusing.

I’m not offended by it, I just didn’t see how it was funny. It is possible to not be offended while not thinking something is funny.

I guess I did miss the point of the joke, though. I still don’t think it’s funny but I understand what he was going for and apparently hit his mark with some of y’all, which is perfectly fine with me.

That's equally weird to me. Why would anyone want to be offended is super weird.
