Sounded like he said “actor”. I guess that’s the Fredo accent that threw me off.

I’m not saying he should have hit the guy. But aggressively getting in someone’s face hurling multiple threats with no follow up except more threats is backing down. He was writing checks he wasn’t willing to cash. In my world that is backing down.

It isn't backing down at all though. You could say he didn't follow through.

Backing down would be him stopping all the shite talk and trying to walk it back.

Was he referring him as Fredo Corleone? I’d be upset too

Its pretty racist to blacks for Fredo to decide a movie reference is just as racist as a derogatory word for blacks that has been around for centuries.

I am guessing you didn't see the part where Fredo threatened the kid. He said he would throw him down the stairs. He then continued yapping. The kid said "what are you going to do about it?" This is, and has always been an invitation. Saying "No, you would just sue me" is backing down.

So, he threatened physical violence, was told to step up and get some, then backed down. The fact that Fredo kept yapping doesn't negate his backing down. Maybe you and I didn't see the same video. I watched the one in the OP.
