I have had zero desire to watch a Benoit match since this happened, and I'm a pretty big wrestling fan and acknowledge his all-time talent. frick him and I hope he's burning in hell.

I thought that was weird that Eddie’s wife and family can move on from his death but he couldn’t.

I can understand that desire. However, I think just shutting everything out and going about it like he never existed doesn’t help. Everybody that’s interviewed says the guy who did this is not the Chris they knew. He was kind, he was sweet, he was loving. The next breath they are saying he changed after Eddie died. He was withdrawn, he started acting a bit paranoid, or he wasn’t himself. So the signs were all there but no one sat him down and got him some emotional help. They just let him slowly spiral away inside. When a person reaches that point, I think the littlest thing can be what finally breaks them. For all we know it could have been something as small as telling Chris he has to let Eddie go and move on that finally just broke him. They did say that his wife was wanting him to get out of the business. Mental illness can have devastating consequences.

I remember his 1st WCW match like yesterday. January 13, 1993. He wrestled Brad Armstrong (one of the best technical wrestlers who could make any match look good) and bridge-suplexed him. You can call wrestling fake or whatever...but that was unreal. Stood out and that was best match of night even with an extremely poorly-planned cage match that was supposed to be 4 on 4 (ended 3 on 2 with Cactus Jack breaking into the cage with bolt cutter) and also Steamboat and Douglass vs. Austin/Pillman.
Benoit was a rising star that night.

Dude killed his wife and young son. This is like glorifying Aaron Hernandez. At least no one is doing that.
I hate everyone involved in this. That's coming from someone who loved the WWF as a kid.

I didn’t get that impression. It’s just telling the story of his life up until that point. The episode ended at them finding out they died. No one claimed he didn’t do it or any other conspiracies so far.

It’s almost certain a CTE causes him to lose his mind. I don’t know how to categorize the act. I’m not usually one to make excuses on these things but this is pretty legit. All opinions of everyone his entire life was that he was a nice calm guy in all situations.

The POS was giving HGH to his 7 year old son. Benoit was seriously messed up in the head, studies showed he had the brain of a 85 year old. I enjoyed watching him wrestle but what he did... man... I can’t even...
Hopefully the WWE never puts him in the Hall of Fame.

CTE not withstanding, it’s impossible to look at this from only one side. You can’t say he was a fantastic wrestler and it’s tragic what happened because it trivializes what he did. At the same time you can’t just say he’s a monster and everything he previously did should be forgotten because then you fail to understand how it reached the point it did. At the end of the day the complete story is that Chris Benoit was a fantastic wrestler who killed his wife and child and then himself.

I haven't watched the vid yet but that was my impression watching the Autopsy episode about him on Reelz. The way he broke down talking about Eddie didn't seem natural coming from a friend, even a best friend. There was either more to the relationship and/or he was already a broken man and this was the last straw

Beniot was my favorite wrestler and I quit watching shortly after everything he did. It was just all too much. I saw a few years ago that his other kids were in a lawsuit wife his wife's family over the estate. They also believed that Benoit was innocent and set up. But it was some pretty out there stuff. Does this show go into any of that?

Benoit was one of the best to wrestle in the 1990's and 2000's, but you cannot separate who he is with what he did. I'd like to think of him as something other than a monster, but I cannot.

Exactly, and as I pointed out Eddie’s death while unexpected and heartbreaking was not in such a manner as to plunge one over the cliff emotionally. He wasn’t murdered or killed in a horrific accident, he just died at a young age of early heart disease. Typically most people grieve and come to terms with loss like that, but Chris didn’t. Eddie’s wife even says in the documentary that Chris would come over and lay on Eddie’s side of the bed holding his pillow and just cry. It’s just weird and makes me think there was way more to that relationship than just best friends.

Im not about to watch that full documentary. But im apart of the generation that grew up watching Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. I was in love with wrestling at that time. I had the action figures, video games. Everytime my friends got together in the neighbourhood, we would wrestle. Everytime I got together with some of my cousins, we woulf wrestle.
I remember Eddie Guerrero last match, and how he passed out in the ring, and almost the next day it was reported he passed away. For a while, I wondered if his death was another storyline. And he would come back to life at some point, but of course it never happened.
So yea, when Chris Benoit news came out I was very conflicted. I desperately wanted to believe that was not the same Chris Benoit I knew and love. After reading all the details on that case, I lost every bit of respect I ever had for him. Screw that man and what he did. He's a freaking psycho.
