I get about a dozen each week uptown and it genuinely never gets old.

One day there's going to be a catastrophic event when one of these flyovers goes wrong and we have 10000 people dead.

I get it if there was some sort of cable across the stadium that was in their flight path and they flew under it without ever seeing it and just lucked out. If they saw it and manouvered under it in the flyover, nice work. Regardless, how is this some sort of news INVESTGATIVE REPORT from that nancy boy local geezer? Jeebus.

Yea I see them practically daily from my office in the CBD. Most of the time they are low, but nothing crazy.
But every now and then they get REALLY low. Like barely above the buildings low. It's loud as shite and it gives me a boner.

This is stupid. It’s already been debunked. The wires were the ones attached to the goal post net. Below the top of the stadium. They never flew under any wires.

I really doubted that too. And, I once came across that FAA guy in a deposition and like all of them, he was an “I told you so” uber safety dude, but knew his business.

Does anyone have the video they claim shows them flying under wires? You have to be a moron to think that happened.

Here's the video from local news interview with former FAA dude.

Maybe it's an optical illusion, hard to tell for sure but I'm skeptical even though it looks like the Chinook went under the cable.

I was actually in the uppers and filmed this flyover. It was amazing.
Posted on 12/5/21 at 9:55 pm to Diseasefreeforall
Yeah they didn’t go under that
The reason it’s not visible on the cockpit video like the news says is because the cable was way below them

I'd bet money that is one of the cables that suspends the camera over the field. What would be the point of a cable that runs directly across a stadium at the very top?
It was well below the helicopters.

Investigative report doesn’t investigate location of the wire. We couldn’t see the wire from the cockpit but it was probably still there because we could see it from another much lower video at angle.

It's not a question of if, but when.
Posted on 12/5/21 at 10:04 pm to Diseasefreeforall
Whether they flew under or above will be resolved. But, military flyovers are still conducted in accordance with FAR guidelines. In this case, FAR 91.13 will be the issue and that will be argued whether this falls into "careless or reckless operation" category. Feds don't normally take that reg lightly and if they want to push the issue, they will.

Can the FAA overrule the military if they tell the to frick off?
