You guys ever watch a Hardees or Carl Jr advertisement?

I don't like those and I'm straight.

Sex is used to sell everything. Get over it.

When a 6 year old senses an issue with the commercial, and asks their mother "Why is that woman in bed with another woman?" why don't you have similar questions as an adult who should understand morals and right from wrong?

Ah there it is.

I'll let Louis CK respond:

yes, if a child can see a blatant moral conflict why can't you?

I think it might be because you have been conditioned by this propaganda going on now for 30 plus years. "Gay is normal for certain people".. "do not judge, it doesn't impact you or me"

Plus the fact you are probably under 32, not married, do not attend church, and vote Democrat when you vote

or you just like to be argumentative

is the child seeing a "moral conflict" or simply asking a question as to something they have not been exposed to before?

I thought that recent commercial with Cindy Crawford and Sofia Vergara was bad enough.

Christians for the most part acknowledge and recognize sin in their lives and are actively / privately trying to weed it out in obedience.

Morals are not for us to change, or create.. They are provided for us from God.

This is an issue because it doesn't pass the moral code.

So many Christians selectively enforce their moral code. You don't see outrage about divorce or the judges who grant them. You don't see much support to enact legislation strictly limiting the ability of couples to divorce. For some reason the gay issue just really gets some Christians going.

The child doesn't see a moral conflict...they see something different. The same way children will stare at a handicapped person that seems strange to them until they grow up some and learn that simply being different does not make them something to stare at.

The problem is really more with your and others lack of interest in simply explaining any concerns the child may have without poisoning the well with what you consider to be right or wrong...regarding an issue that does not in any way affect you. It's simply you wanting to tell others how they must live, and then claiming "but think of the children!!!!" as the reason for your issue.

45, two sons, you know my stance on "church" and have never voted for a democrat in my life.

Yeah, let's reference a comedian to brush that issue aside. because the use of the F word is how to make the point come across loud and clear. ?

Okay...whatever makes you feel better about your own opinions and moral code you hold yourself to.

I mentioned the kid argument because it's being discussed in the comments section of the link.

I guess you would be ok with this being aired during a Superbowl?

it just seems so simple

just tell the kid "people love who they love"

now how hard was that?

why would I care?

Nice try at deflection...his point stands on it's own with or without frick being said.

Of course...why not? There is literally NOTHING overtly sexual in nature about the commercial. If it was a woman doing that and getting up next to a man no one would bat an eye. shite...people lost their fricking minds around here a couple of years ago because a man and a woman (you know, God's preferred marriage system) were an interracial couple in a Cheerios commercial. Again...what are we going to tell the children?!?!? Sigh...

My only consolation in threads like this is knowing that I'm witnessing the death throws of opinions like yours. Honestly...given you guys have essentially had your way for all of recorded history, I do sort of feel bad that you're in the last generation of having things your way and under your watch it'll fade away.

That would certainly sting I imagine...

I don't think they handle it well for sure. I recognize Christians are doing a lot of harm pushing back on this issue publicly. they should let it rest...but commercials like this, I can see the outrage...

I think they believe they need to defend the gospel. At times I do to...but if people haven't' personally surrendered to living under Jesus' authority, then what business is it of ours?

None really but, when we get to vote from a nation or civilized country stand point, we vote our beliefs accordingly.

Beyond that, Christian's aren't promoting sinful behavior or endorsing them publicly.

"Get a divorce today if you're not happy" "Join our church, we don't care, we accept you as you"

That's not a good message is it?

I couldn't care less if they ran it on Teen Nick.

It's less risque than any of the GoDaddy, Carl's Jr., or Victoria's Secret superbowl ads.

Hell, there was an ad for 50 Shades of Grey during the last Superbowl.

You're supposed to be outraged...that's why!

the funny thing is that most kids (unless they are trained to think otherwise) simply do not see any problems with any of this stuff on their own. They just don't even see it.

On CW's Arrow and Fox's Gotham there have been lesbian couples that were part of the story. While I certainly noticed (because both times they were awesome!) neither of my sons even batted an eye at there being an issue to even ask about, let alone turn and require some explanation as to why the networks were ruining the country or something. They simply saw two people who were kissing or in bed, the same as they had seen when two people of opposite sex were doing the same.

It's really only an issues for those that WANT and NEED it to be an issue. Case in point: Apex.

You can say that all day... It doesn't change truth of what is or isn't appropriate for a certain audience.

Call it opinion of you like, In my line of thinking it's a moral conflict that doesn't need to be nationally televised.

None of it really matters to me because it's not up to me nor under my control.

I am just fascinated that people like you think these issues are new to earth and that a new era of Progressive thinkers and "equality" some how changes the moral code.

We all have to answer to one who created life.

the good in all of this that Christians are being shown that they are not being loving and are being judgmental to those outside the church and are not being the "light" they are suppose to be on these issues.

"Take the plank out of your own eye"

the bad is, those who were lost yesterday are still lost
