All you folks with pools might want to stock up now. Looks like the lake Charles plant will not be back in time for summer production putting huge pressure on the market. This is for most pool chemicals.

Yep. It's a huge mess. It is affecting ISOs which is stabilized chlorine. Non stabilized chlorine is not as affected but still in shorter than normal supply due to Covid supply chain issues. Most chemical manufacturers are having trouble getting buckets.

Is this going to affect water plants usage of chlorine for disinfection?

Chlorine pools are so 1980s and trashy. Its made for those homeowners who like to piss in their pool.

Saltwater pools owners don't piss in their pools so no need to buy Chlorine.

I can absolutely say that this won't impact the Orleans Parish Sewerage & Water Board one iota!

Pretty sure that around 1/3 of the nation's chlorine comes out of there, so yeah it kind of is

I've been thinking about switching to salt, this might be the catalyst I need

Do you understand a salt water pool and a traditional pool have the same amount of chlorine?

The salt in a saltwater pool is converted to chlorine.
