Not great but to say it’s disgusting is a bit aggressive

Last day is Thursday. Im thinking unreasonable lease is the reason. Houma is out the box when it comes to commercial lease prices. I know one small shop was paying 5000.00 a month for like 1200sf. Twin Peaks closed a few years back and it was rumored to have been paying 13000.00 a month, Sombreros in Southland Mall about the same.
Our rent varies from $12,600 to $15,000

Talk - strictly rumor- is Dragos goes to twin peaks on MLK. We have heard this multiple times .Not sure of what goes into the old New Orleans hamburger place on park
Idea was abandoned last I had heard

I ate at Big Mikes tonight and the brisket and turkey was awesome. I could live off of that and Song Phi Nong.

People in Houma definitely love when a new chain restaurant opens....I swear you could open a new McDonalds next door to an older McDonalds, and the new one will be packed for a month

Your right. They could have 2 Outbacks side by side and they’d both be packed.

I'm not even mad about Chipotle closing just wish they would bring a Panda Express in somewhere

I want to see a Panera Bread and a Zea's come to town. On the other hand, it would spread the money out so they can stay away

Panda is objectively horrible. Any local Chinese delivery place is light years better.

Houma needs:
2nd Chick Fil a
Longhorn
In and out burger
Dragos
I heard Thibodaux is getting a Chick Fil a and a five guys.

Even if they did a small restaurant like the one on the Westbank.

What do you think is driving these high leases? Because its on MLK? The price of the property the builder paid? If companies keep failing and having to close because of the high overhead does the market adjust itself? 5 years ago Houma was booming but now its hurting.

In middle of nowhere crap holes, good chains are usually welcomed.

The high leases are due to location. St. Charles is a nicer area but you will not get the traffic you get on MLK. The ownership of our particular are has changed three times and is up for sale since we opened in 2010. Right now is the time to jump into the Houma area. We opened during a boom and paid off our opening costs pretty quick. When the downturn came we were able to manage it and still put money in the bank.

It is, but it fills a space. Sometimes I just want something faster than a typical takeout.
