A lot of credible people have actually started to suspect that the virus may have been manipulated in a lab and escaped (either via accidental release or intentional...that is likely never to be known).

There was someone on Joe Rogan, I forgot who it was, but he was some doctor dude who knew a lot of shite about this..
He said that there are parts of the virus that suggest it is likely not natural. I forgot exactly what he said, but he said he thinks that more than likely they were using it to test it for something and that people in the lab got it without knowing and they passed it on to others and it just started spreading from there.
I want to say the part of it that doesn't seem to be natural is also part of what makes it spread as easy as it does. So this isn't really all that surprising.
He also said something about how this lab is an international lab where doctors from all over the world work in which is why he thinks that it getting out was not intentional.
He said that there are parts of the virus that suggest it is likely not natural.
