China Looks To Boost Energy Partnership With Russia

China is ready to work for a closer partnership with Russia in the energy sector, Chinese President Xi Jinping was quoted as saying on Tuesday, days before the EU embargo on seaborne imports of Russian crude oil and the G7-EU price cap on Russia’s oil are set to enter into force next week.
“Energy cooperation is an important cornerstone of practical cooperation between China and Russia, and also a positive force for maintaining global energy security,” Chinese news agency Xinhua quoted Xi as saying in a letter to a China-Russia Energy Business Forum.
“Xi also said the Chinese side stands ready to join hands with Russia to push for clean and green energy development, and safeguard international energy security and the stability of industrial and supply chains, thereby making new contributions to the long-term, healthy and sustainable development of the global energy market,” Xinhua reported.
China is now the biggest outlet for Russia’s crude oil after the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the EU bans and embargoes forced Moscow to re-route most of its crude exports to the biggest Asian buyers, China and India.

China has become Russia’s biggest energy client alongside India, with both countries refusing to join the Western sanction push against Moscow and instead opting to continue doing business and forging closer political ties with Russia.
Reports have emerged in recent weeks that some Chinese buyers have become wary of purchasing spot Russian cargoes loading after December 5, waiting for details about the price cap and the potential consequences for buyers.
Still, China has no intention of joining any price cap mechanisms, and it is said to be demanding deep discounts from Russia for its crude.

To hell with them both.

Agree. KGB Putin and CCP Xi.
Hopefully we elect strong leadership in the White House come 2024. We'll need it.

While we're wishing for things unlikely to happen, I'll take a billion dollars, a supermodel wife, and a prenup.

China doesn't care what the rest of the world thinks. It's going to get it's oil from where it's cheapest/most profitable to them.

This is fricking hilarious, the globalists and the Communist Dims bought and paid for by China think they are going to rule the world when they implement the Great Reset. China is sitting back and saying "You're a bunch of stupid motherfrickers"
That's one thing I agree with China on. Ain't no cure for the Dim.

Honestly, it is folly to wait for the government to fix the China problem. This is one issue that the fix is with the American people themselves. While it is impossible not to buy some items with Chinese content most consumer items can be bought either Made in the US or at least from other 1st world countries. Start looking at labels and avoid Chinese and push your friends and family to do the same.

Completely agree.

I thought for sure China was going to invade Russia to secure their Siberian oil fields. Russia's invasion of the Ukraine exposed their weak arse military. China missed a golden opportunity.

The poliboard is now ironically pro-Chinese. Whoever can “stick it” to Biden is good to them.

Part of the reason I posted this article, though I did on the OT because I wanted a bit more range of opinions. The thought did cross my mind to put it on the PoliBoard.
They view Xi and Communist China as evil, as do I. However, the majority there thing KGB Putin is the only elected man (since Donald Trump lost to Potato) on the face of the earth standing up for freedom and against communist NWO takeover.
But now freedom loving Putin is partnering with CCP Xi?
They're both Communist POS's who hate individualism and economic freedom, which I guess our current White House administration should love them both for from that standpoint.

It seems very skeptical of the Chinese to me.

Why go to war with them right now as they continue to build their military to invade Taiwan. Once they control the manufacturing of semiconductors, they’ll send the world back to the dark ages and can invade whoever they want, when they want.

If we were smart we’d be spending our money on killing chinamen, not Russians

I always said this russia ukraine thing was about getting cheap oil to china.

Yep.
You couldn’t get me to return there!
Read an article, though, that apparently while the Biden Administration is “allowing” Chevron to return, they haven’t approved Chevron paying royalties.
I can’t imagine the Venezuelan government, which owns the mineral rights, is going to allow Chevron to flow production without paying whatever royalties are part of any lease or operating agreement they have with the government.
