It's my belief that China released the virus on purpose. While that may or may not be true, the fact they are restricting research efforts and trying to hide information about origin of the virus proves they are culpable in some way.

You are giving them way too much credit imo. Their original testing was at like 70% accuracy at best. They don’t have their shite together to do something like this on this scale on purpose. I wouldn’t doubt it was a frick up and a scientist left a lab sick. But I don’t think they poisoned their own people and then built a large scale last minute hospital by choice.
At best they were studying virus’s due to public safety reasons due to all the bar virus’s already or potentially military grade and it got out on accident.
