Anyone remember Tony's Tamale's at the end of Vets and City Park? I use to hang with a guy that sold out of the van. What fun times. And hauling arse to the Warehouse as soon as possible.

You're too young to remember the Indy Raceway track that took the place of the drive in theater on Vets just past David Drive...
Dizzam! I rode that track much!
Hell, I remember going to the drive in!

Also loved me some Fireside Inn pizza...anyone remember the midget magician that performed there at night?
Yes!
And I stand corrected on the Brown's... it was Borden's.
And the cow! OMG

I started LSU in 1977 after graduating from a suburban Chicago high school. I met some Metry and Kenna boys in English 1001 and asked them if they were from New York City.

Brooklyn South...
I have a relatively mild New Orleans accent, when compared to the stereotypical Y'at, but I'm frequently questioned about it when traveling.

True story:
Leaving the dorm at the end of my first Fall semester, a bunch of us were spouting off about our holiday plans and where we were traveling to...
One guy said, "Kenna". Another guy, who was not familiar with the colloquial vernacular, immediately asked, "KENYA?!? How the frick are you going to drive to Kenya?"
I'm not sure if my literary skills give justice to the story, but 35 years later, it still makes me laugh.

Fun Worx on Power by the interstate
Yep, was great. Pretty sure it was also called Fun Factory for some time as well. Afterwards it became Tremors teen club.

there will never ever never be a Chinese restaurant as good as this... Our Family basically had our own table...We went so often that Davis and Virginia would always sit down and eat dinner with us whenever we ate there.

The Fun Arcade on Vets near the old Dorignac's.
Yep the one by Dorgignac's was better than the one down near David Drive.

Super Popeyes on Vets by Cleary?
This was open right up until Katrina. Best tortilla soup around. Copeland also opened Wrap N Roll and Wholly Mackerel's.
