Wait. They arrested kids as young as 6 not for fighting but because they didn't break up a fight? Since when are children legally obligated to step into a fight?!? I'd lose my fricking mind if some cop handcuffed my 7 yr old over some stupid shite like this.

I'm going to go waaayyy out on a limb here and say these kids were not passive bystanders.

Likely a hooptin and hollerin rabble that was actively encouraging the fight; there's likely video uploaded via an vertically held obamaphone on Worldstar.

If this is what they were doing, it's grounds for something like grounding or a whipping. But handcuffing and arresting them? As young as six fricking years old? That's beyond absurd.

This sounds insane. What laws did they supposedly break?

Sound like they broke the "Good Samaritan Law" from Seinfeld.

I remember playground fights were not uncommon back when I was these kids age in the late 70s.

Playground fights in the 2000's turn into shootings or single parent retaliation exponentially more frequently than the 70's. If they can't solve the problem of absentee parenting, then solve the problem of didndu nuffin living. This isn't an issue of bad policing, it's an issue of police/administrators having no other recourse.

I tried finding the age of culpability in Tenn and couldn't find anything. As of 1997 there was no age but it also said there wasn't one for La but I know its 10 now.

I'm sure this fellow will see to it that this is resolved in a calm, peaceful manner. No outside influence.

I lived in Murphreesboro when I was a kid in the 60s. It was a nice little town then. What happened? Was it the AFB closing? The auto manufacturers coming to town?

If followed, at least the hoopters and the hallowers will hopefully learn to do something different next time.

Yeah that shite happens when you dont take pride in your neighborhood, take pride in your yourself or have respect for anyone or anything. Maybe next time they will step up and "DO THE RIGHT THING"

We're not talking about adults. How are 6-year-olds supposed to know any better? You really don't see a problem with this?

Not sure what that is for a 6 year old on the playground

You can be the best parent in the world. It doesn't mean your kids won't cheer on another kid fighting.

I can agree with that. I'd also offer that most of what we all see online these days isn't an issue of kids being "bad" kids, rather parents being uninvolved "parents".

I would have no problem with those parents burning down that police department and school. School principal should have done everything he/she could do to block those arrests.

And you base your sarcastic comment on what about his image? The he is married? Is wearing a button up shirt? Or is it something else?
