She was being negligent. I would assume there is more to the story also. As in she has been warned before, her son did not tell the cops where he lived when the approached and asked where is your mommy, or she was overly argumentative with the officers.

I don't think any such thing is apparent.

Sounds like you want police to parent.

I don't.

Her child being taken by police officers that could very well have been anyone with bad intentions is a successful outcome? Kk

Older children, teenagers, adults, etc. can all be taken by anyone with bad intentions. Should nobody be allowed outside?

Who gives a good Goddamn if she's an SJW? You think your small government freedom loving right wing arse can tell someone else how to live? I mean, you wouldn't want the government to lean on her, would ya?

Absolutely can, a 4 year old is more prone than all of those. They are also prone to many other mindless dangers such as wandering into the road and such. It's a cute argument, but don't pretend there's not a difference

Most states have a laws specifically noting at what age kids are allowed to be left alone, be latch key kids, or babysit. I am certain no state allows that at 4 years old.

If you can't let your 4 year old 120' away from you, you need counseling.

Big gov. types would prefer the State take control of raising kids?

Stranger danger is so fricking overrated. We are producing adults that can't cope with life because of helicopter parents.

Blows my mind people are just willing to throw away their rights over the smallest of chances.

It's not even that alone, 4 year olds aren't the most sure of foot individuals or decision making superstars.

Accidents can happen, he can chase a ball to the wrong spot, he can fall off the slide, he can get caught in something, he can run into a dog that got loose. How the frick is it even debatable that you need to watch your child at the ages of 3-4 and even later.

It might not be 4 years old for your kids whom you keep in cages all day lest the boogeyman get them, but the point of letting your kids do things is that they grow, mature, and gain life experience earlier. Maybe her 4 year old can handle it?

4 seems a little young to be playing alone unsupervised. She seems pretty stupid either way.
