2nd degree murder of Laquwan McDonald

81 months

Over 6.5 years most likely will serve over 3 years including time already served.

The 16 counts of aggravated battery were not included with the sentencing. The 2nd degree murder charge was the most serious of the two convictions. Thusly, can only be sentenced on that conviction.

Yeah, he deserved to die

That’s not what I said or implied.

But if you get wacked out of your brain to where you can’t comply with a cop’s instructions, bad shite is going to happen to you.

If the instructions are to "stop" and you're walking away from the officer where the officer has no reasonable fear he/she is in imminent danger, lethal force should not be an option.

That's a pretty light sentence. That video looked pretty bad so I'm surprised he didn't get more.

The worst part is the two officers that lied for this murderer got off free. The judge basically said the video did not the whole story and should be ignored. I'd like to see that judge recalled.

Ok, so he was high on PCP and walking away from officers.

Doesn't mean he deserved to die.

Sentencing was about what was expected. First time offender with no criminal background who will never again be a threat to society again.

So if I have no criminal background, I catch my wife cheating on me and shoot her 16 times, you think I will only get 6 years? I mean, she's dead. I only killed her because she was cheating on me. I don't want to kill anyone else. So only 6 years is about right?

And how do you know he's no longer a threat? He shot this guy SIXTEEN times. He not only killed him, he desecrated his body. This guy is a blood thirsty sociopath in my book. I don't know how anyone could say he is no longer a threat.

You know what, frick it. He probably did. Anybody whose taking PCP probably isn’t bettering the world. I know this is the OT and frick the police and all, but let’s be honest, this guy was more than likely a drain on society.
