When I was in college, myself and two buddies would tip over a coke machine at about a 35 degree angle and get free drinks. The gig was up after about three weeks though.

No doubt. There’s a good bit more going on there than mere frugality.

Bought a ceiling fan off amazon b/c Lowes was out of them. Amazon then says delivery delayed and I can cancel. Lowes has them now so I cancel. Amazon says to keep the fan if it ends up showing up.

Buy the fan at Lowes and install it. Amazon fan arrives. I return it to Lowes.

Free ceiling fan.

Years ago I bought a vehicle and I was given a card for 5 free fills. They said when I was in town just pull in and tell a dealer, show them card, and they’ll hop in and fill up at a gas station behind them. They always forgot to sign it. Even times where I’d hand them the card and they’d give it back without signing it. Probably got about 10 tanks of gas. Jeff Gordon Chevrolet, Wilmington NC.

There was a store that gave points for purchases years ago. May have been best buy or some electronics place.
They didn't remove points for returns.
So I went and bought and returned the same $300 DVD player like 20 times to get a free play station 2.

In college, a guy down the hall had a birthday cake. He ate half and threw the rest of it in the communal trash can. Let's just say the cake did not go to waste.

When I was 15 yrs. old, I wanted to go find some cheap tickets to the Tulane/ LSU game in NOLA (1975). None of the scalpers were selling them as cheap as I needed, so I found the Tulane Band that was about to enter the stadium. I asked one of the horn players if I could carry his horn case in, so he let me. I just blended in with the band. After I got in the stadium, I thanked him and yelled "Tigers...62 to nuthin!" as I walked away. True story...

Insurance didn't cover vasectomy so I called around and found a dr. To do it for $300 cash after hours. He was a regular dr. Just gave a local anesthetic. Saved $1200

A co-worker drank room temperature Cokes. He said if they were in the fridge he’d waste electricity having the fridge cool them and then have to use more electricity to get the cold ones. Hence, room temp Cokes.

Banged a coed in college and was broke as a joke being a 18/19 year old student so had a little accident that night with the rubber so she wanted the pill the day after and said she'd split it with me when she got paid in a few days. I went ahead and purchased and gave to her. Well, I hadn't heard from her in over a month and spring break was the following weekend, I needed gas money, so I called her to collect the other half even though we hadn't spoken since the pill hand off.

Lol, had to do what I had to do to party for Spring Break but it still makes me cringe to this day. Never hung out with her again. Still had sex though

We lived in a duplex when I was a little kid, probably about 4. One evening the owner, who lived on the other side invited us to eat. Think we had pork chops. There was a little jar of tooth picks on the center of the table with a cotton ball in the bottom. After eating the landlord grabbed a toothpick and so did my dad. Well, when the landlord finished picking his teeth, he put the toothpick back in the jar. My dad almost calmly just got up and left for a minute outside. He later told us he almost threw up. We laughed about it for a while. Re-using toothpicks?

Yeah, the way he phrases bad things in an acceptable fashion, I can only conclude he’s a Democrat.
