Visiting here for the first time. Headed to the Panthers game in a few minutes.

Nice clean city. Weather is great. Traffic has been easy all week (yes holidays I know). Tons of close community neighborhoods and all the restaurants have been top notch.

Even my Bad Daddy burger was incredible.

Am I just catching this city at a good time or is it really this awesome?

it's pretty nice, traffic can be terrible most of time especially up towards Davidson and Mooresville

It's called "average working-age person regularly goes to work" and "average person doesn't throw garbage out of their moving car" and "average person went to a decent school". If you're impressed with Charlotte, you'll be blown away by Logan, UT or areas of Minnesota, for example.

Not everywhere is LP.

I know it's a lot smaller, but I like Chattanooga a lot.

Lived in Charlotte for twenty years. It's clean, and the neighborhoods are quite pretty. Giant houses everywhere.

But coming from New Orleans, Charlotte is a giant bore with almost zero character. Downtown is lifeless.

If you love your golf, your shopping, raising your kids with soccer... Charlotte is your place. If you like street music, artists, culture, history, museums, parades, festivals.... then look elsewhere.

it's like clockwork on the weekend, especially around Davidson

the only bad thing about charlotte is that it can be hotter than hell in the summer and have some frozen roads in the winter, it also becoming extremely overpopulated and is only going to get worse

investing in real estate is $$$ right now

I forgot to mention, though... that if you enjoy party pontoon boating or jet skiing or fresh water swimming.... Lakes Norman, Wylie, Wateree are fantastic. And then it's a short trip to the mountains.

Overall, a nice place to live... but as an old man I'd return to New Orleans, but never to Charlotte.

My son and I used to like to go down to Lake Wateree. Very quiet and peaceful. Chances of collision with other boaters much less.
