They have all three branches of the government (including a Supreme Court that will rubberstamp anything they do). This we're the powerless persecuted silent majority act is so very stupid. But it goes hand in glove with beleiving there is a real progressive power lobby in this country.
Haven't said anything of the sort. I said by nature we're playing defense while our opposition is constantly on offense.
But I certainly hope Trump takes the gloves off to the extent feasible and gives the country precisely the brand of Trump that the progressives (well, if they existed, of course) warned us about.

sorry, maybe i got carried away. hard to know who’s being genuine in this thread and who isn’t when you’ve got SECClint, SFP, and Machoman intentionally stirring the pot.
I have a hard time accepting that Charlie ‘put himself in this position’ when he was on a gun-free college campus, sitting under a tent, inviting students to join him in a good faith debate. He isn’t in people’s faces being aggressive, rude, or ugly in those exchanges….more often than not, he finds common ground and embraces the people he debates.
Anyone claiming Charlie Kirk in any way caused this is indulging in the same toxic rhetoric that fueled it in the first place.
I think what happened today was awful and have nothing else to say about that. We have shootings in elementary schools though.

I do think with how it went down, I might jump to another conclusion. I know you guys can't do that but still.
I mean, everything should be on the table until we get something definitive.
No decent images of the shooter, no weapon found, no car, no manifesto online. Disgruntled blue hair tranny from the gender studies department seizing an opportunity should be low on the prospect list right now.

From an elevated position? No you couldn’t unless you practiced. This was a sniper
I could hit a still human target at 200 yds with a deer rifle with zero practice tomorrow. And he hit him in the neck. Do you think he was aiming for the neck?
He missed his target, but 200 yds isn't that terribly difficult. 400 yds? Yeah, maybe so.

The latest social justice movements have taught us that words are violence.
This is literally what they were pushing.

I am not sure if that's as easy as you think. I am no expert.. by a long shot.. I've been to the gun range several times, i've been around people shooting long range targets.. Unless that shot was intended for someone else, at that angle, that wasn't the easiest shot to make.

How are Republicans playing defense and what would taking the gloves off look like?

why are you trying to pivot to a completely different tragedy?

This is what you wrote. Jesus did that his entire time on earth.
Not when people could shoot farther than you could see after the Roman emperor was slain preaching the same words you are preaching.
You are comparing Jesus Christ to Charlie Kirk. You go to bed.

200 yards with a scope, deer hunting is done by 8 year olds in the south.

Republicans won’t take the gloves off. They never do. They pretty much sat by after Scalise got shot and did nothing. The people who are ready to take the gloves off don’t play by the same rules as Republicans and it’s going to get extremely dire if we keep going down this path.

When we sighted in our hunting rifles it was at 100 yds. Acting like you need to be some Navy Seal sniper to hit a human target at 200 yds is laughable.
