A black D.A. said that an "independent witness"....in that type of complex, presumably another black but either way, an independent witness ... confirmed that the police did announce themselves as police, there was no "no knock" entry, and someone inside shot first, hitting a police officer. Am pretty sure all police officers, in that kind of situation, know better than to stand in the line of fire. With the POS shooting first, what would give the police pause to think he wanted to surrender? I know libs hate facts but this is what the Grand Jury heard & this why they came back this finding. Facts per an independent witness in case you missed it.

If someone broke into my house I started shooting I would not expect to be killed by a cop. A criminal yes. A cop no. That should never happen.

According to him he didn't know they were cops so there was no expectation that he would be killed by cops. He obviously expected that some one was trying to kill him, hence firing his weapon. Just so happens they were cops. The cops didn't expect to kill anyone either or be shot at. But I guess their expectations don't matter. Only the criminals, of which there were only 2 in the apartment, Taylor and her boyfriend. Based on the facts in this case, your flawed logic is that cops should never shoot in any situation. This is a textbook case of a legal shoot by the 2 officers in the apartment. The one outside is the gray area. That's why he was the only one charged with anything.

You ask should they stand there and be killed. Absolutely not. No moron cop or not will stand in the line of fire. However, you could announce it loudly out of the line of fire that you are police. Let him surrender and be done. Your reasoning is flawed.

They did announce they were police. That is fact. The cops went in, after knocking and announcing, only to be shot at, likely with guns drawn. Their best option was to shoot. This was a real life situation not a movie. It was a gunfight in a small confined space. The cops likely didn't have the option of retreating and announcing again.

If you were moving forward, gun in hand, and began to take fire, would you retreat and shout at a gunman, who's unlikely to hear you or use the weapon you brought and shoot back?

They just ought to stop playing the anthem before going to work. That’s what pro sports is. A job. Does your job play the anthem everyday before you clock in??? I doubt it.

He’s a huge, rich, black, former pro-athlete, quasi-celebrity. He’s cancel proof. Did I mention he’s black?

I hope NBA ratings crash so bad that Adam Silver has no choice but to relocate the league to China.

I'm with you on this. Privileged idiots who don't really think or understand what is going on. VOTE? This will only get worse.

The knocking hasn’t been disputed by anyone involved. The boyfriend even confirmed it because it’s his reason for grabbing his gun in the first place. He heard banging and grabbed it. The irony is that had they NOT knocked, he likely doesn’t grab the gun and shoot when they come through the door.

I don't always agree with Chuck on his views, but he always speaks his mind. He's not afraid to offend, even his own.

Chuck hits the nail on the head more often than not. He is one of the few athletes/celebrities we see in front of the media constantly that I will genuinely listen to. He seems like a level headed and non-emotionally driven person which is becoming increasingly hard to find in this day and age.
