Does anyone know the story of Charlene Richard, otherwise known as the Little Cajun Saint? I was just wondering what people's thoughts are.

Try this. It is not as good as the NYT article but will give you a summary.

I don't see how anyone from south Louisiana wouldn't know about her.

I was taking a bunch of country roads home one day coming home from Eunice and happen to pass right by the graveyard where shes buried. I turned around and visited her grave and said a prayer.

I believe her miracles will be confirmed and her cause will proceed. Her little life is such an inspiration for many in the SWLA community. My pop made the foundation that is supporting her cause a large living rope rosary and attended the final blessing when they sent the documents to Rome.

Because I do not want to use that much bandwidth. The article takes about an hour to read.

Grew up very catholic in South LA. Grandmother used to wake me up at 2am during the summers and bring me to adoration with her.

1st time I've heard of this saint

Although many people believe she is a saint she has not yet been recognized as such by the Vatican.

Of course everyone who goes to heaven is a saint.

Regardless of your faith… it’s pretty incredible that a little girl suffering had the strength to put something above herself

I attended a mass last Monday at St. Edward's Parish in Richard in commemoration of the anniversary of Charlene's death. I received the holy eucharist from the Bishop of Lafayette and got to say a prayer at Charlene's grave.
