this is actually a little disturbing when you think of it, because it means that they DO have the ability to moderate their behavior within certain parameters, and they just choose NOT to most of the time. if the "zero impulse control" thing were true, then they wouldnt be able to think "there are kids all over this field, so i cant shoot a gun and risk killing a kid". somewhere in their minds there was some sort of unspoken understandiong that "ok kids are here, so we can still have an all out brawl, but just no deadly weapons" which is actually even crazier.

there's an old story around A&M (no idea if it is true) that there was a huge brawl between A&M Corps of Cadets guys and a bunch of Baylor students, and the only way they could stop the brawl was that they played the national anthem, so that the Corps guys would all stop and go to attention bc they respected the anthem more than they cared about the fight.
it would be like that but on the other end of the spectrum. play the national anthem, and they all immediately have to kneel bc their passion for hating the country trumps their anger about the fight.
