This isn’t good for humans in the future. How are they supposed to have a career and decent lifestyle? AI needs to be regulated to basic research only and nothing that humans can do. This is wrong.

We arent guaranteed a "decent lifestyle" without some hustle involved.

Yes b/c the oil income in that state is only sufficient to fund that amount.

The PFD is based on stock dividends from investing oil money decades ago. Thats how its supposed to work.

If the correct formula was used, every alaskan would get about $3500 a year but they've stripped that to pay for more schools and govt projects.

Its dead in my opinion, not worth saving anymore.

I've got one about to start college and it's been a little challenging helping her pick a career path. I have to think if I believe that job will be around in the future or if it will be automated.

I don't believe mine will be before I'm able to retire.

My wife's job could probably be automated now, but a decent portion of the population still prefers dealing with a human.

Define entry level white collar job.

If he means data processing and input then it’s very possible.

If you’re talking about being an AE for a book of clients that have to be managed? Good luck with that.

Business at a certain level runs on relationships. Always has and always will. When a potential client asks “Who do I call when I need something?” they don't want a bot being the answer.

Clients aren’t logical and they don’t make decisions based on what they are supposed to do. I’ve had a few over the years that would short circuit any AI. Stay close to the transaction and you’ll be fine.

My 17 year old granddaughter lives with me, and I have the same dilemma.

We're just trying not to overthink it, but its always there.

Whatever your feelings about Trump and his personality, he’s definitely in opposition to the globalists, that’s literally what America first means and is withdrawing us from all of these global organizations.

He also is cutting taxes to let people keep more of their own money.

Compared to the global elites plan to reduce the world population by 90 percent ( they literally admit it, and what do you think the pandemic was all about) since they aren’t going to need us any more, I would definitely say benevolent is an accurate adjective.

The fight against the globalist elites is literally a good vs evil battle.

So many sheep that can’t see it and would willingly go to the slaughter.

All this won’t happen overnight and having hope for humanity is a lot different than trusting the government, so it’s definitely wise to help your kids / grandkids pick career paths that will outlast this as long as possible.

It's just not true right now.

And if it happens it will have less to do with AI and more to do with quantum computing.

Anyone who has used AI on a normal device understands just how limited it is.

You read a whole lot into my post that I didn't put there.

I'm simply not engaging with anyone who thinks ANY president is/was/ever will be benevolent.

But, thanks for the extra incentive to disengage with that screed.

This.

I'm confident AI will continue to get better and better and will eventually replace us all, but my god the "free" versions of AI out there now are so bad.

I literally cannot think of a single time the Google AI summary of an answer to a basic question was correct. I always click on the links that the AI will cite as a source for its answer. Literally 100% of the time in my experience, the source cited does NOT say what the AI says that it says.

AI has already eliminated entry-level jobs, like cashiers, with self-service kiosks at McDonald's & Five Guys on the Westbank. I'm certain there are more (& will be more in the near future).
