They will be gone before the cemetery crew can do anything about it anyways. Random people visiting will see to that, trust me

It seems counterintuitive that the kind of person who would take the time to visit a loved one in a cemetery would also be inclined to steal flowers from another burial plot.

I think flowers are a waste, but that's just me. For plenty of other people, they have great meaning.

Every year on Lundi Gras, me and some family place Mardi Gras beads on several family graves, and pour out a beer or two. I love doing it and honoring those people in a way they'd appreciate. I'd do the same for my mom if my dad hadn't buried her in Atlanta like a dumbass.

If a cemetery called up and said to me, what they did to the op, I'd tell them to go frick themselves, and call them out for being shitty, insensitive human beings. That's straight up bullshite.

All they do is die. Maybe thats the point. Im sure dead people everywhere rejoice when they look their own headstone and see flowers. Sucks when someone doesnt visit the grave. I bet that dead person is sad and lonely. Oh wait, the dead cant think, or see, or hear or talk because they are dead.

That doesn't seem to stop them. If you choose to put out fake flowers they will last about as long as a donut at a fat camp.

Cemeteries aren't for the dead. They're for the people they left behind.

I'm beginning to think you don't understand that visiting and dressing grave sites isn't done for the dead......

Thanks for all the feedback. Everyone has their own, rights ,opinions and ways of of honoring or remembering loved ones. When someone tells you how to go about it you are exactly right they can go Frick themselves.

Am I wrong in assuming that the plot is paid for and owned by your family?

If that is the case, remind the caller that the plot is your property and that you will put whatever the hell you want on it. It's your stuff on your property. Mention the possibility of the legal issues they'll face if they mess with your stuff.

I don't know the legalities of it and I'm just taking a shot in the dark, but if you mention those things, you have at least an even chance that they will back down some on it.

You havent been to a cemetery and you dont know people.

When I was a kid, my mom brought us to the cemetery about once a month to put flowers on the grave of her dad. I can remember a bunch of times getting there and there were no flowers on the tomb, only to find them a few gravestones down.

Little American flags dont last long either. People love taking those.

I'm not suggesting it isn't prevalent, I'm just saying that the act of going to a cemetery to visit the deceased and stealing flowers while you're there seems like completely separate types of people.

Tell that to the people that purchase them.

It sounds like your family doesn't communicate well. Maybe work on that?

I mean were yall all standing in line to see who had the nicest flowers? Seems weird.

Also, she's dead. She doesn't need flowers.

You must not be in NOLA. On All Saints day some people bring HUGE arrangements out there. They spend some money on those things.

Get fricking real. Do you know anybody that drags their kids to a grave site once a month? That's borderline child abuse.
