We haven’t been in some years because I personally thought it was pretty crappy and not worth the hassle, So have they upgraded everything to make the hassle and the price worth it? Maybe with slotted times the hassle factor goes down?

They are offering bike nights (Monday’s from 5-545) at only $5 a pop but there’s no way I’d let the kids ride anywhere around there after dark, even if we parked in the park itself.

A long time ago when it was worth a shite we’d pile three generations of the family into the ol station wagon and drive through there every year.

Do something different and see the lights display in Natchitoches. It’s free.

Is it the “after dark” part that’s worrying you, or the “anywhere around there” part?

If you don’t want your kids riding bikes in the slow rolling traffic of the festive onlookers in cars, after dark, that makes sense.

If this is a reference to crime in City Park during Christmas in the Oaks, then bro, you need to lighten up. It’s a very safe family environment.

Do they supply the bullet proof vest or do I have to bring my own?

Heavy traffic with distracted drivers mixed with kids on bikes is a recipe for disaster. They apparently give free reign to the bikers before letting vehicles in hence the small window but you still need to get from the route back to your house or vehicle……..bro.

So your reasoning was in line with my first assumption. That makes sense.

Your original verbiage didn’t make that clear… pal.

FIFY… I prefer the old name.

We do it every year but I’m ready for a change. Going to try Bellingrath Gardens in Mobile this year.

If you do go to CitO then be ready to shell out for the train. It’s worth it.

It's not about the actual experience. It is for your wife to be able to post it on Instagram and Facebook - so she look like a good mother to her followers.

Went the other night. It was nice. Rides are still fun as ever, seems like they half assed the lighting compared to previous years on the train ride but I chalk it up to the overall decline of the city as a whole.

Went to the one in Metairie at the park last night which $10 per car.

Saw a huge chicken at that park while we waited as big as a turkey. It was all bruh and trying to take down a Chevy SUV. I have full confidence that chicken could have tore that suv up.

Lights were nice cannot complain.

It’s one of City Park’s biggest fund raising events of the year. Whether it’s worth it is relative to the money you have.
