If you are over the age of 70, please consider not returning to school this fall.

Why do people make a claim like this but then don’t elaborate as to WHY keeping schools closed is a threat to public health.

I haven't seen the interview where it was pulled from so I could be wrong here, but I'd guess that he did explain, but the person writing the article didn't care enough to add that.

They got the one quote/soundbite they needed to run the article, and that's all they cared about.

If only we had a person, like someone in a leadership position within government, who huddled with scientists, experts, health experts from other nations, and this person came up with an overarching plan that would properly balance public health needs with economic needs. That person could, in theory, have the country moving as one toward recovery through strong leadership, effective communication, and eliminating divisive, unproductive voices from the conversation.

That'd be pretty sweet to have a position in government for someone who could do all of that.

Specific guidelines are out.. by the same scientists and officials you're claiming we should listen to.

The VP said 42-50 states plan to open schools in some capacity.

Each state, however, can choose whichever guidelines they want.

It's not as cut and dry as putting together a massive plan at the federal level. If it was then we'd perhaps see someone running for said leadership position offer a plan up....

You also make it seem like state leaders would be bipartisan in your approach lol. We've seen pettiness already from many of them specifically because they rather prefer to see current said leader out.

And yet every teacher I know is bitching and moaning about it. Go figure.

Bitching and moaning about what, specifically? I’m a teacher, I know dozens of other teachers, and I haven’t spoken to a single teacher who wants schools to remain closed.

Wait. So, are we listening to the CDC now? I've lost track.

Hang on. I'll check Trump's twitter to see how I'm supposed to react today.

Twitter
Well that's your first mistake. I don't have Twitter, nor any other SM except a trifling, poor little Instagram page, and even then I only have a couple hundred disciples...or was it friends?

No, that's not it...because when I see some of them around town they clam up, look at me like I'm a creep (of which I am) for saying I'm a fellow friend and then act like we've never met.

Oh! Yes, followers. I've a couple hundred measley followers. That's all the "social" media I have. I digress.

I'll check Trump's twitter
That's your second mistake. Politicians hate the guy, and since they're our rulers, you ought to listen to them, not him. But going back to your first mistake, Twitter'ers are the absolute personification of the word sheeple. Don't be a sheeple for Trump, be a sheeple for the people who hate him and who got your country into this mess. Listen to their Tweets (which also happen to be the loudest, most numerous, most redundant Tweeter'ers of them all) not some guy who decided to run for president for some unfathomable reason.

Anyone who comes to this digital world in order to get a pulse on how they should think, feel and act in the actual reality that surrounds, sustains, and eventually kills them is THE problem.

Check yourself.

And while you're digging, check your white privilege too, and if you discover that you are in fact a heterosexual, cisgendered white male, then while we're talking about checks, please take your reparations one to your nearest BLM chapter as soon as possible. Better yet, bring cash. And your foot washing toolkit too. Any delay on your part will indicate that you are a racist, henceforth a cancellation of your dignity as a human being will occur. We want you to be tolerant, but we will NOT tolerate your intolerance of our infallible intolerances.
quote:

Trump's twitter to see how I'm supposed to react today
You mean the guy who was a billionaire and who all the politicians, musicians, elitists, etc., fawned over but now hate? The guy who could've lived out his years in quiet, billionaire'ish solitude, but instead decided to run for president and wreck what could've and should've been the golden years of his billionaire life?

You mean the guy who republicans despise, and who multitudes of which have announced they will not attend his republican convention (assuming it's in-person attendance)?

You mean the same guy who all politicians used to like because he has money and now hate because he can't give them money anymore? You're listening to his opinion?

And you're going on Twitter to get opinions, period?

What a loser.

You should listen to the politicians, not some old guy billionaire whom they all hate. They would dance in the streets upon hearing news that he had been assassinated. Listen to them. They are the lowly public servants. Be like them. They are just like you. Especially the career ones.

I hope my facetiousness is not lost upon you like yours was not lost upon me, and even though I don't particularly care one way or the other about Trump, nor do I get told about the facts or how I should think and speak and act by anyone (let alone people on a screen) except myself, I am pulling for the guy.

Using the basic tenets of deductive reasoning, since most all politicians wet themselves when pondering him being wiped off the face of the earth by lunchtime today, since most all politicians are pieces of shite who got us into this mess, since the police are the soldiers for their Police State and who's presence at your door with handcuffs deployed and ready are direct representatives of the politicians who hate Trump- a guy who had nothing to gain by being the direct target for unimaginable amounts of hate and vitriol by elitists who used to suck his sack for money, invites and social "notches on their belts"- tells me that he's doing something right.

Everything right? Not a chance.

But since his election he has pissed off big government, their BFF big media, and their civilian fanboys who can't figure out why the government they voted for more of won't pull its rock hard cock out of their arse and stop smothering them with the chloroform cloth every waking minute of their mundane days under the sun.

Maybe he's doing something right. I know he is. He was the catalyst for this unimaginable amount of current and future change and resetting of things, however they may go.

Maybe you should see what he has to say. You know, keep an open mind? Expand your horizons? Deploy diplomacy? Be a reasonable man who is strong in debate and dissenting the dissenter's opinion outside of a few characters behind a screen on Twitter? Deny the mob mentality? Be a an elite thinker? Talk about ideas, and not people?

Nut the f*ck up and think for yourself and know NOT just what you believe, but why you believe it?

Or not.

I can't blame if you if you don't.

After all, that is the new American way, for now at least. Sheeple'ism: The way, the truth and the life.

You’re right. My gripe is probably with the people who write the articles.
