good luck, ya creep.
just make sure you stick to the diet. 2 people I know who did this are now back to their pre surgery weight because of overeating.

Good luck man. It is a life changing experience. Most of the ones I did in residency went home off diabetes and blood pressure meds. It changed things that quickly.
I will also say, I'm glad you picked the sleeve. The band is useless and can be easily beat, same with the gastric bypass. The bypass has all sorts of potential future complications, where the sleeve is just making your stomach smaller (vs. smaller plus rearranging you intestines). You don't get the malabsorption like the bypass, and you keep the pylorus, making it very difficult to beat. The one down side is the stomach will enlarge over time, and you may put on weight again. You may drop a lot, but don't expect more than a 30% excess weight loss over the long term. If you do regain and want to drop more, they can do the duodenal switch. But, from what I've seen, people are very happy with the results of just the sleeve.

Body image counseling, but also just counseling in general is often recommended. Sometimes, the fat dude or the ugly chick become the good looking guy or the good looking chick in a matter of months. They start getting attention from the oppo sex they never got and don't always know how to process it.
It helps with a lot more, including self esteem, relationship with food, etc.

Good luck dude
Gotta remember to exercise as well. Everything is easier when you're thinner, hope you get there.

At least you won't have to use a mirror just to see it soon.

Good for you. It's good that you are doing something to extend the time that your kids have a dad.

I work with a bunch of pts who have that surgery every week.
Just remember to log roll out of bed. Bend your knees and then roll shoulders, hips, knees together while exhaling. Won't be nearly as sore. Good luck man.

I've been on a 1200 calorie diet all this week to prepare for surgery.
Sort of an ironic situation to find oneself in.

It's a big block motor size, not a weight. I'm almost 6'1" and weigh 179 lbs. because I'm not into fork-assisted suicide and I can tell myself "No".
I'm going to my Urologist Tuesday. He's a personal friend and my medical gatekeeper, instead of an FP.
Wish me luck as he rams his gloved marfantish Shaquille-sized finger up my anal canal. To milk my prostate. Then he looks at my junk and palpitates my testes. Wonderful! And we make small talk about LSU's chances for hosting a Regional. Surreal.
He says he doesn't look forward to any of this, he's in it for the healing and the money. I have my doubts....
As to the OP: It's like the kid who shoots both of his parents and then goes before the judge and begs for mercy as he's an orphan. Good luck, I guess.
