I know of three older guys who were plant baws looking for relief from years of back busting and used CBD oil only to be blackballed from said plants by testing positive. These dudes never smoked in their life and were using the “reputable” brands. But they said it helped

Mother-in-law uses the cbd cream on her foot every day. She had a jacked up surgery and cbd has given her more relief than anything else she’s tried.

I’ve used it a few times myself and believe there was some relief. Nothing beats a good bowl though.

CBD oil is ineffective unless it has traces of THC in it as well. Very recently listened to an expert on this, Sue Taylor, as she gave a presentation during a symposium on Cannabis. The endocannibinoid system needs the endocannibinoids, which is found in the THC, for the CBD oils to bond appropriately.

You need full spectrum CBD to get the benefits. Those amazon hemp oils and shite sold in GNC is worthless.

If you’ve only tried hemp derived CBD your opinion is invalid. If you haven’t tried CBD at all, you’re ignorant.

I would compare the effect to having maybe 2 beers. It's a little relaxing but nothing special.

I think it does help you sleep a little better though.

I have a friend that has some arthritis in her hands and she swears by it so I guess it does have some positive uses.

Also I will say it did help my wife with test taking anxiety. She was taking some professional cert exams and said she was normally a nervous wreck but they helped a lot. Was it a placebo effect? Maybe.

I think we’ll see some good applications for cbd oil (pain, anxiety, maybe others) but it will take several years before we have good studies that are clear about the potential benefit and risks. Anything that appears to be too good to be true probably is.

These are not new compounds. They have been used for a long, long time

You also need to keep in mind that these plants do not fit the “one compound, one cure” model

Here is info from someone with skin in the game

You can keep waiting on pharma influenced RCTs to tell you their “truth”. Good luck with that...

A Primer About Cannabidiol And The Benefits Of CBD Many of cannabinoids have therapeutic value and CBD is no exception.

Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and HIV dementia. Nonpsychoactive cannabinoids, such as cannabidiol, are particularly advantageous to use because they avoid toxicity that is encountered with psychoactive cannabinoids at high doses useful in the method of the present invention. A particular disclosed class of cananbinoids useful as neuroprotective antioxidants is formula (1) wherein the R group is independently selected from the group consisting of H, CH3 and COCH3.

According to the federal government, specific components of the marijuana plant (THC, CBD) have medical value, but the plant itself does not have medical value. Uncle Sam’s single-molecule blinders reflect a cultural and political bias that privileges Big Pharma products. Single-molecule medicine is the predominant corporate way, the FDA-approved way, but it’s not the only way, and it’s not necessarily the optimal way to benefit from cannabis therapeutics. Cannabis contains several hundred compounds, including various flavonoids, aromatic terpenes, and many minor cannabinoids in addition to THC and CBD. Each of these compounds has specific healing attributes, but when combined they create what scientists refer to as a holistic “entourage effect,” so that the therapeutic impact of the whole plant is greater than the sum of its single-molecule parts. The Food and Drug administration, however, isn’t in the business of approving plants as medicine.
