Pure CBD will help you come down from being “too high”

For instance, if you happen to misread the edible label to have 10mg of THC and eat it and then realize you missed that extra zero making it 100mg THC, then having CBD on hand would help. Heard that from a friend...

He is. He's comparing apples and oranges. With that much THC of course he's going to notice the effects, and promoting something only available in weed-legal states.

I'm smoking stronger things than that, that's my job here. To know and become one with thc.

I am not big on cbd, but with a degree in botanical science, I do study the science of it and on a daily basis many people who use it.

In louisiana, I'm not sure if there is anything sold that isnt Hemp, which is related but not the same as cannabis sativa or indica

First statement has some wrong information. Hemp is cannabis sativa. Marijuana is typically referred to as cannabis indica though there is debate as to whether indica is a seperate species or , in fact, a subspecies of sativa (when I was younger, I do not recall people separating the two, everything was called cannabis sativa).

Hemp does, in fact, contain some THC, the amount varies by strains but is typically negligible plant strains used for commercial production and typically removed during processing by most legit operations. Hemp is almost always what is used for Cannabidiol (CBD) extraction because it it always higher in CBD content than Marijuana.

As to the OPs question, yes, it is basically modern snake oil. That doesn't mean it has no legitimate use, just that the wall to wall claims of what it can do are indicative of a scam product. Also, there a very few double blind clinical results to back up most if not all of the claims. Those need to happen and the claims that are allowed to be espoused need to be more clearly identified as being conjecture or clinically supported.

If you want to get technical, but you know what I'm saying. We could go off into ruderalis and its impact as well. A lot here has to be in layman's terms.

And it maybe almost always used for some CBD sold, not all. Especially out here.

FWIW, I wasn't doubting your knowledge. I think most people here were more asking about things they can buy in their backwards arse, conservative states. Something with 20% THC isn't going to fly down here, and isn't the same thing as the <0.3 THC allowable.

And I know you posted the pics in response to someone's speicific question.

Its all good, I grew up in louisiana and know how it is in the south. Louisiana is so scared to make money a new way.

My cousin calls me up, talking about how things are starting up there too. I have 0 faith that louisiana will do anything right when it comes to this. I can see other states maybe..if Mississippi stepped up, they could have billions and turn their franchise around.

ETA

And if Texas legalized recreational, the parking lots full of louisiana license plates to thier dispensaries would look like texas plates to casinos in louisiana.

I would love to do a test on lowering blood pressure. studies on glaucoma say CBD in the lower doses, as well as for anxiety I would presume. I wonder about cancer studies done in higher doses.

also, do you know what derivative of the plant helps nausea in cancer patients?

It depends, sometimes the person making them sets a price. Sometimes a company. Those are medical grade, I got them for free but I think they were going for $40 or $45.

not sure, I honestly always assumed that was the THC but I did see some recent stuff related to CBD being the actual trigger for that. Many of the clinical studies done years ago were aimed at marijuana rather than specific CBD or THC. Newer studies need to be done, there may be some, I'm honestly not that current on this.

So would I, since I do take medication for such.

There's no real side-effects to CBD so it's low risk.

I wish somebody would do a legit study of whether not it helps with psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis.
