Remember when they tried to revitalize with Sogo Live.
I used to do standup at Sogo every week. One time I took the mic to the bathroom with me and continued my set as I took a shite.

Before Sogo it was called America’s pub

I remember America's Pub. Was is still America's Pub when they were filming the Dukes of Hazard movie?

I just remember we were waiting in a long line to go in(whatever it was called then) during that time. Then they announced they weren't letting anyone else in and were turning people away. Apparently Jessica Simpson was inside and had complained it was too crowded and they didn't want her to leave.

OMG!! They would NEVER do something like that in Arizona. We should all move there.

There's still a sign on the I-110 exit at Government St. directing people to Catfish Town.

ETA: Drove by there on the way to work this morning, different sign. Does somebody in DPW read the OT?

Tiger Droppings Thread on Catfish Town in 2009

Wow, posted in that thread and now I'm posting in this one 10 years later. Really makes you think

Good god, we were there every week. (Bogies Tuesday, Sogo on Wednesday, Spanish Moon on Thursday, Tigerland Friday) There was no better feeling than walking up to the bar and ordering two beers and being handed a six pack. Or a 28oz plastic cup of Jack and Coke.

It was a sad day when they limited drink specials. And when SOGO closed down.

Jeez, we drank a lot....

Remember being there opening day. Think it was july4? Hot as hell

That is correct. I was working for Saia who did all the electrical work. We worked 16 hour days trying to get it ready for July 4th. There was also a radio station in it. Think it was 103.3 whatever they called it back then

I wasn’t trying to talk any trash about America’s Pub/SOGO. I actually liked going there. Went there all the time when it was America’s Pub during my Belle cocktail waitress days.

I was trashing Jessica Simpson for being such a bitch. It was known she was a pain in the arse to deal with while filming that movie (refused to sign autographs, demanding clubs cater to her, etc).

Are you talking about that place up stairs in the atrium?

No it was downstairs....I think by the parking garage?

And it was actually outside the atrium.

One of my visits home to BR a few years ago liz (the poster) and I went there and stumbled around the empty atrium....liz deciding to do drunken cartwheels and I think flips in the atrium.
