Career change ideas. Late 30’s

I own my own business....franchisee of a top 10 QSR, with 3 locations. I do reasonably well financially but I’m starting to burn out. I enjoy the business but I’m getting to where I hate having to rely on the talent pool of folks looking for those types of jobs. It’s just a huge headache and is taking a toll on me and my relationships with others.
Considering possibly getting into something else. What is a good field I can get into with a couple years of school or training. I know I wouldn’t be making near what I make now, and that’s fine, but would need at least 70-80k/yr. I have zero debt. House is paid for.
Business is doing really well and I could certainly change my mind, just trying to get an idea of possible options.

You own a few McDonald's and hate dealing with the employees? Sounds like you need to get a Chic Fil A or Cane's franchise.

I have a business degree. 15 years worth of running all sides of a business including accounting. Other than that, not much that can be verified. I’m not looking to bail currently..willing to seek further education or training

You're a businessman, and it sounds like you are a good one. Sell the business, and look for an investment opportunity that does not stress you out in the same way.

If you are as willing to lower your profit as you say you are, why don’t you hire a high level employee to deal with all the stressful BS you don’t want to deal with and keep your worries to a minimum and just pick up a hobby to fill in your time

Cane's franchise.
Pretty sure Cane's are all corporately owned and operated.

If I leave my current situation I want to get out of that industry completely

Hire your SIL to help you out.

Maybe buy some mattress stores. You only need one employee per store and only have to deal with 3-4 customers a day.

I guess without knowing all the variables, I think wildcattiger has the right idea; or at least the course of action I would pursue. Might not quite be “mailbox money” but you could probly relieve yourself of a lot of the stuff that bothers you, especially to the extent it bothers you.

Sell the business so you have a couple of years of expenses in the bank.
If you kept the books yourself, you have enough accounting experience to land a mid level job.
You should also have a good working relationship with a number of outside contacts. Talk to some of them and find out what might be available in their companies.
