Yeah, I know how to hand wash my own car: two buckets, post-wash detailer, clay before waxing, etc.

But, I just bought a pretty nice 4 year old F150, and by using the car wash I can get it done in 15 minutes out the door. No, it isn't showroom perfect, but it looks better than 90% of the cars out there and I don't have to spend an hour every Saturday morning getting out the pressure washer and shop vac (assuming they haven't crapped out, like my pressure washer has.)

$30 a month for unlimited washes is just fine by me.

anyone who actually goes and buys a single wash is a total fool.

You are the total fool in this scenario

Mine is $20 per month

I get my car washed once every 2 months or so. Yep it gets dirty, yep I should wash it more. It's 14 years old so i don't give a shite.

So what's more foolish...spending $15 once every few months like I currently do, or spending $40 over that same time frame just so I can go more even though I have no desire to?

I pay $25 and get the "tire shine" added. includes free vacuum and they provide clean towels to wipe down after. I use it at least once a week and honestly idk how they are making money. Maybe its a money laundering operation for a drug cartel but I don't care if it is as long as I get my unlimited washes

Wait till it rains or hosepipe it. Spray and forget tire shine occasionally.

Time you do it, the cost of the water, it’s cheaper to take to car wash. If I wash mine. My water bill goes up $20 bucks. Nope don’t have a burst pipe.

Do you live in a desert? If washing my car cost me 20 bucks just for the water id lose my mind.

If these places were ruining cars, they wouldn’t be in business with so many subscriptions.

Riddle me this: how many auto drivers own their cars? As in, paid for free and clear of any and all mortgages? Not leased or rented?

With the $ xx,xxx.00 prices that people signed for, do they expect the car to be a passalong to their children or grandchildren?

Are the cars just a part of their keeping up with the joneses facade?

Moved to another state recently and the car washes are ridiculous. $85/month for monthly subscription. WTF?? They also charge to use their vacuums.
I miss Benny’s $15/month price from a few years ago and I really miss my days in Metairie years ago with Safari. Loved having inside of car wiped down with the wash for a reasonable charge. I’m sure the cost has skyrocketed in the last 15 years.

I don’t know the answer, but wtf does that have to do with the question of whether car washes damage paint jobs?

I have a $30 a month subscription, I run my truck through it at least once a week. It’s a deal for me
