Stay away from Progressive and Geico. You'll thank me if you ever have an accident. Otherwise, shop around.

Progressive has been the best insurance company I've ever dealt with.

I've had Allstate for as long as I have been driving and the only times my rates have changed is if I moved to a different state or made a change to my policy (changed vehicle, added a driver, etc).

Exact same experience with Allstate.

OP I am guessing you either live in South Louisiana or a flood zone. South LA has atrociously high auto rates.

If you're in/around BR, give Insurance Network of Louisiana a call. I was with Progressive for years, and State Farm before that. INL beat all prices by 20%.

I've heard folks say they are happy with Progressive, but God forbid if you are hit by a another driver with them.

I think that's with all same insurance incidents. Insurance company loosing money.

Just went from State Farm to Geico last month. Will save over $1,000 a year with the same coverages/limits

Just don't get in a wreck and need your insurance company. Geico will put the cheapest aftermarket parts on the planet on your vehicle and force the body shop to fix your vehicle as cheap as possible.

Why buy insurance if you can't depend on it when you needed it.

Exactly. I drive nice vehicles and expect them repaired with OEM parts. And I hear USAA is great unless you are the one who got hit by their insured. I am fighting a diminished value claim on my sons 2016 Accord. USAA insured hit my son and they offered $650 in diminished value on $5k quarter panel replacement on a 2015 fully loaded Accord coupe with 7k on it. They told me I’d have to sue to get more. I told them a hit on a carfax on a car like that is alt least $1500 and they know it.

I had progressive for years, multiple vehicles. Saved $100 a month with better coverage levels at Geico.
No claims in ten years, never an at fault claim.

I had 4 cars on my insurance with All State and my daughter had a wreck that totaled her car and Allstate went up significantly. I ended up changing to Progressive and saves $1100/ 6 months.

Gieco just raised their prices on me. I had it down to like 70 something for a few months and now they raised it 20$ back to where I had it before lowering some stuff. I've kinda half arse searched around, but they seem to be the lowest so far. Anyone got some that is lower than Gieco?

As a practicing attorney for the last 29 years Allstate is the worst insurance company in America.

Had them when I was young and dropped them 20years ago.

Do not ever allow you and your family to be insured by Allstate to be insured by these thieves.

people don't seem to know that insurance companies are a business first and they make money by not paying out on claims. Of course they try to not pay claims

There are consumer protection laws and plenty of plaintiff attorneys lined up if they don't handle claims correctly. Some are better than others but most do a decent job. Price shop and find a company with good financial strength and rated well for claims handling. AM Best rates them for both.
