Told a dealership GFY over $100 in document fees. Anybody else ever done the same?
P.S.....don't tell me they are "from the state". I have heard that nonsense for 2 days now.

Killing a $30K deal over $100 seems very petty and a waste of everyone's time.

Tell them to set their default to black/white and double sided and they’ll make that back in no time.

Pretty normal for a car deal to have doc fees. $100 is more than reasonable in my experience.

The words “go frick yourself” literally came out of your mouth to another human being in a business negotiation?

Probably an overreaction but I get it - if you believe you're getting screwed, it can set you off. Overall, I'd say it's worse that the dealership wasn't able to back off the $100 than the buyer.

Rookie move. Tell them to lower the price of the car $100 and they can leave the $100 document fee

No, of course I didn't say those words but that was where it ended in an unspoken way since you are hung up on triviality

That's exactly what I did and they told me GFY. ...in a sense for all of the literally trapped women here tonight

Not for $199, but I just bought an Accord and they had a $699 document fee, and told them they have to take it off from my perspective. Went back and forth for a few minutes, but they finally caved. We agreed on the price, and the price was $699 less than I offered, and the $699 showed up on the document fee line for them.
It's all in how they put it on the paper.

You sound mad throwing all these GFY’s around

That's very reasonable on their part, and exactly what I'm talking about. Congrats on a successful deal. They have nothing

You’re going to pay more than that in interest on your 84 month loan term bruh
Posted on 7/20/18 at 7:33 pm to DirtyMikeandtheBoys
I am because I wasted the better part of a week dealing with them over a car that they have had for 120 days.
