Cultural appropriation is political correctness gone wild. If it has no trademark or patent, it is, of course, legal to copy.

Which is funny considering that cultural diffusion (which is cultural appropriation without a negative connotation) has been considered a hallmark of the advancement of Western Civilization. I like the brand of "capitalism" where one can invest millions in a shitty project, file bankruptcy and avoid heavy losses, and spread the "risk" you took across society (letting the contractors, suppliers, laborers, etc. - the people you owe money to - )share in the fruits of your shitty business decisions.
