Nah that's half the fun. Of course these days, the parents will probably write a strongly worded letter to the HOA to get you fined. 9

It's 6:00 here and they're just starting to trickle in. Downtown "trunk or treat" is wrapping up and the rush at the stadium where the varsity football team (including my boy) hands out candy should be about done. I figure I've got about 10-15 minutes before the mad rush hits here.

I would've told my kids to skip your house next year if they came home with their lunch snacks.
This is sad.

I like to give out non-traditional, more nutritious treats. Last year I gave out satsuma oranges. The year before I gave fresh blueberries. This year I'm making brownies, but using a low sugar recipe. Traffic to my house has steadily gone down lately though so I'm not sure how much to make.

Halloween is too late for mosquitoes! Damn global warming.

got an empty bowl out with a sign that reads "take one" so I look like a good person and everyone will think someone just took all the candy

No fricking shite. You are worse than those of us that turn off the lights.

Traffic has gone down because people are skipping your home. Parents can't confirm that your homemade brownies aren't bad, poisoned, or etc...
They'll skip your house rather than deal with this from year to year. I took my kids every year. Yours would've been the first house crossed off our route.

Just set up some bag chairs in the garage, nice night to sit outside. Had one cowgirl stop by, hopefully we get a few more. I think my neighborhood is just slow on Halloween.

I'm already imposing the 1 piece per kid rule. We're already over 100 kids and it's only 6:20

My neighborhood was one of the few didn't flood in Livingston Parish, so I expect to be slammed by every kid in the area

Are you and Tino neighbors?

Too early here yet, usually runs from 5p-8p. Businesses downtown are open for the kids though, so lots of ghouls in the downtown area.

Doubt any kids are gonna come around my place. Every house on my street is dark.

Maybe..
Someone I know just rolled up. I didn't know he lived near me.

I think kids appreciate my effort and thoughtfulness.

the sugar in all that candy is what's poisonous.
