The video meetings are warm and intimate, he said, adding that not all in-person discussions have empathy and compassion.
So? Do you really need a doctor in-person to pat you on the shoulder and tell you that you're going to die? Seems kind of pathetic.

Like or not, the relationship between a doctor and a patient is a professional one. Furthermore, the number of patients per doctor is rising because of overpopulation. Technology is providing ways for one doctor to give care/info/advice to far more patients than in the 20th century. It's the responsibility of loved ones and clergy to give intimacy to sick people, not medical personnel.
