Don't bother "cancelling", just put a merchant block on the credit card. Easy peasy.

When the Times Picayune would run those $12/month promo specials in the late teens, specifically after they supported Mitch and his monument removal campaign, I would sign up, then cancel just to tell them they were sell outs. I'd name the activist pretending to be a journalist and cite them as the reason.

Enemies of the public.

I was the "2nd in person" for ADT to call if my ex's alarm went off. We eventually went our separate ways but were still friends and she never took me off the list.
First the house burned down, then she passed away a year later. I still get a call every once in awhile about the account.
