It's way more complicated. It was clandestine political engineering and manipulation of the populous to become reliant on the government vs. self-reliant. Many BHO EO's were crafted for this effect. Poli-board stuff. As much as it is not fair to the people who paid off loans vs. those who didn't, if the fed gov was fricking with status quo of higher education, then they need to figure out how to un-frick it.

Universities increasing tuition is rational. If universities saw enrollment drop when they increase tuition, they wouldn't be so quick to do it. Instead, they have full enrollment regardless of how much they increase tuition. At some point the bubble will burst regardless of how much the federal government props up this monstrosity.

Maybe I should have just partied and smoked weed in college and flunked out and did nothing and now I get my student loans forgiven right. frick that.
