No

but, if you do go into the field of your degree, and stay in it at least 5 years, i could see a cut, or cancelling it.

So me skipping vacations and driving a beater for years so I could find my three kids college fund was just some kind of learning experience. The lesson being that !self sufficiency is for suckers and The State will provide. Got it .

You're basically crying because you saved money for a future cost you will likely no longer need to fund?

boomer logic is amusing to me. I just don't get it.

Right. It took me 10 years to pay off my student loan. Never missed a payment. Of course the size of the debt nowadays is considerably greater but it’s still “your” responsibility

What about my wife who just took out a personal loan with a lower interest rate to pay off her $100k+ in student loans? I’m sure of course we wouldn’t be rewarded for making a fiscally responsible decision.

Right, I did the same (or similar) while paying for my wife's graduate degree, while we saw some of her classmates who took out 100k+ in student loans go on trips abroad that we couldn't afford at the time because we were paying her schooling out of pocket.

It's fricking stupid if they get to be that irresponsible and there are no ramifications for it.

Do you think the debt will just go away?

You're too stupid to even try and give you an explanation.

I'll try.

Government "forgives" the debt, but pays the lender.

Now, where did that money come from to pay the lender? Think...I know it's hard on your dull little mind.
