A friend, yea I know... is considering this option to bring down a monthly cost from $1,000 to $275 (Lurasidone / Latuda).

A lot of sources point to this being just fine, and LOTS of Americans do it. But a couple online articles say the chances of receiving substitute or substandard drugs is high.

Anyone have any friends need to do this? Outcome?

Thanks for the serious replies, and for the ones that make me chuckle too!

* * * UPDATE for LATE-MARCH:
I wanted to follow-up with y'all. My friend used one of the recommended companies from this thread.

Order #1 came in rather quickly, and is working just fine. Order #2 is en route.

~$1,675 saved so far. THANKS for the tips!!

You just have to love it when our system is so screwed up some states even pay for flights and a stipend to go fill prescriptions in other countries.

Read an article that Utah does this so find out where they go and order from there.

The online scare articles are paid for by big Pharma.

Because Americans have to subsidize the world. Same thing for Climate Change, we should have to pay more to save the world.

Research that is provided to the FDA which "proves" drugs as safe and all that "evidenced based" stuff taught in med school was paid by the pharmaceutical industry as well.

Our doctors have been programmed to prescribe. Think about that for a bit the next time yours wants to put you on a cholesterol medication

I take statins and frankly don't know what to believe about this issue.I monitor it closely for any muscle related effects.

Some people just have naturally very high cholesterol, consequently it is best to take the medication. No argument there. But the majority of people who take them would be better served by changing their eating habits.

As long as:

1. The company is a legit operation that won’t steal your money and
2. You don’t have an unstable diagnosis that has required hospitalization...

Then I would try it.

Latuda has a short half life and you will know within 7-10 days of it is adequately controlling your symptoms. If it is not, back to the US version. You are only out about 10 days worth of cost.

Even when the drug site says it’s from Canada, the drugs usually come from China or India where the drug oversight is shoddy at best.

You may have a slightly higher risk of getting a counterfeit drug, but for that savings, I'd do it.

Do not know what that drug is for but you can read up on generics.

I get my generic of levitra from Canada online.
It comes from other places.
Once from india. A couple times turkey.

Works as advertised and no noticable issues.
Less than
1/10th USA cost.

I was under the impression you gave them a prescription and they mail it to you. Never heard of someone personally flying to another country.
