We had a toddler who ate one of those pods in our PICU a year or so ago. It basically destroyed most of his esophagus. He spent a long time in the hospital and required several surgeries iirc.

Yeah but it looks colorful. Doesn’t stop a toddler from sticking it in their mouth and it burst and go down his throat

No lie. I just bought some Tide Pods and the lid was child-proof... so I just unscrewed the lid and threw it away.

I 100% guarantee you that the lawyers fought for making the lid unable to be opened by any human and marketing fought back saying that hard to open lids deter people from buying more. They compromised on that useless design while the actual designer that had to make it happen wept.

This right here, they're colorful, toddler fist sized and not attached to a 2x4.

Anything not attached to a 2x4 is going in the mouth. That's what babies and toddlers do. So toddler grabs squishy candy chunk and it pretty much dissolves into a sticky mess they can't spit out on saliva contact. So the bittering agent doesn't matter much. And as nurse said from there it ravages.

Baby proof your sink and utility room. No kid needs to go through life sounding like Tom Waites.
