Yes, easily.

Call, be nice, they'll divert it for court costs + fine.

They just want the money, and you don't want it on your record.

Win/win.

Is there no traffic school in LA?
In Calif, you can go to traffic school for a moving violation if you haven't been in the past 18 months. You still have to pay the fine and cost of traffic school but the violation doesn't go on your record.

Find out if the issuing municipality is a "court of record". Had the very same concern when paying a recent ticket. I was told by the clerk it would not show up on driving record since the city is not a "court of record". She said mere speeding tickets are not sent in.

You won’t get any relief in St. John the Baptist parish. St. Charles is just as bad. Your only hope is to know someone way up in the pecking order for those parishes. I worked down that way for 20 years.

Wouldn't work in Louisiana. No opportunity for graft.

Someone once told me to pay a speeding ticket for the amount plus $1. The system will show a credit of $1 vs. $0. The automated system, that sends information to Insuarance companies, only sends $0 balance citations to the respective insurance companies.

I tried that once. Sent my check for the fine and one extra dollar. They mailed me a receipt showing the fine paid and my $1 extra dollar going to some administrative bullshite fund

Actually you can pay less. Just did this. I'm in St Landry though, probably one of the most crooked of parishes.

Traffic school in Texas
If you have not had one recently you can go to traffic school or school online
Still need to pay ticket to whoever got you( small town cop in Texas for me)
But it stayed off record and I claimed the traffic school to my insurance company
Some give discounts if you complete the school
