I got it wrong at first too but if the ball costs 10 cents and the bat was a dollar more ($1.10) the total would be $1.20.

yeah I was about to argue over .10 cents then I realized my pretty fricking stupid error.

Still makes no sense.

Bat is $1.00 more than the ball.

If ball is $.05, then $.05+$1.00=$1.05.

The problem states that combined they cost $1.10, not $1.05.

So they're trying to list the numbers that are only three letters long when spelled out.

Pretty lame, really.

There could be multiple trends, not enough info for 1 answer to be correct.

This answer could also be answered with "anything more than 57".

If they "win AFTER 9 innings" that means it goes to extras. So 54 to get through 9, 3 outs for the visitors in the top of the 10th, and then from there whenever the home team scores a run. Could be that inning or later.

Or, the answer could be "bullshite, the home team has John Lackey, so they're not winning".

Well the patches grow by a factor of 2 , the expression is 2^n-1, where n is the number of days. If it covers the whole lake @ day 48, we need to figure out the day it covers half of the lake.

2^47 = 1.407e^14 / 2 = .703e^14 (rounding)

2^46 = .703e^14 , therefore on day 46+1 (47) half of the lake will be covered.
