I think it's because they thought, in truth or just because they thought that way, that the federal government didn't give a shite about the average man living in the South.

I think a lot of people, probably me included, still think that is the case. I think people thought Trump might turn that around, but people are starting to see that truly Trump is the ultimate con artist right up there with John McCain, Bill Clinton, George W Bush, and the biggest of all Barrack Obama.

It's just that in an American context, the former is much more discussed than the latter.

That's the point. You hardly ever see the French, Spanish, West Florida, Casitllian, Fleur-de-Lis or any of those flags flown from pickup trucks or at football games. Not even the flag of the independent nation of Louisiana.

I believe this to be a true statement for the most part, especially for those who's family tree has been rooted in the South for generations. I love my country and would die for it without a second thought but the love of my state and Southern region tugs at my heart a little more. I will never have to make that choice but if ever that day comes, I'm rolling with my people, that's white, black, Asian, Hispanic, whatever color they may be. If they're rooted in Southern ground, they're my people.

Sometimes I wonder if the civil war wasn't maybe the last gasp of the gallic/celtic culture against the dominant germanic/saxon/Frankish, etc. culture. But of course I could be way way off the mark.

I wander how proud the descendants of Nazi solders are and how they would feel if the Third Reich came marching by?

You would have purposely fought for a losing side?

Lol sense of pride..

I guess this board is finally coming to grips with the fact that the south is largely proud of being openly racist under the guise of freedom

Global governance can't come soon enough

The large white space is a nice echo of the final flag of the Confederacy.
