I thought you had to sign paperwork saying that Medicaid could look into your bank accounts and assets for 3 years or so following your eligibility. So I would think that maybe he could end up owing something back to Medicaid? at least I would hope so. No way his family should get free healthcare making that much.

So, what your friend is doing is cheating the system. I'm sure at the time he applied he stated he had $0 income. Which, at that particular moment in time was true. But , it's not true anymore. If he gets caught, he's toast . What can you do? 1) nothing. Don't worry about it . Snitches get stitches . 2) call the IRS and frick him. It's your call. Frankly , I'd just do 1.

I have a friend who lost her job after her FMLA for colon cancer. She owns her house but no other means of income except some savings and 401k. Medicaid turned her down. So I don't see how he could but I guess its possible.
