This one gets pretty wild but the Matrix creators are in the news and Elon Musk has mentioned it recently and some scientist are getting curious about it.
Scott Adams got blasted years ago for predicting that the theory of evolution would be debunked. But simulation theory shows how that can happen.

The theory of evolution via natural selection, probably has more scientific evidence behind it than any other theory every proposed.
