Troop Nola has been a huge help. I don’t like Landry but he was spot on about this.

I will never understand why JBE did not do more when it became abundantly obvious New Orleans was heading in a bad direction with respect to crime and disarray.

Louisiana needs a strong and vibrant New Orleans no different than New York State needs a strong and vibrant New York City. Much of the United States sees what happens in New Orleans as a barometer for our state as a whole. While the city is no longer the center of industry for Louisiana, it still generates the headlines other parts do not.

Agree. Wasn’t NOLA a crown jewel of the state once? Maybe the mob needs to make a comeback. It won’t put up with rogue criminals. There is zero reason to allow a city to turn into this.

Because it takes courage and making tough decisions and JBE was a pussy coward governor.

I never, ever go to NOLA anymore except for work. I used to love going. It’s just such a dangerous shithole.

Went to Red Stick Social last weekend. I felt more uneasy in their parking lot vs anywhere I’ve gone in New Orleans recently.

You have to either be where you shouldn't or get really unlucky to get murdered in BR though. In NO it's also in the areas where people go.

I am going to New Orleans for work soon in Business Development for an energy infra and going to build a mega-plant on the River just a bit south of Nola, at least that's the plan.

I'm also talking to a girl in Mobile. I'm in Houston. We agreed to meet in Nola although technically Lafayette is closer to halfway from Houston to Mobile. But I'm a gentleman and will do it.

We all know that tourism is NOLA main economic engine.

And the port, but sure.

I no longer feel comfortable with the crime response from the city

Given that you obviously dont live in Nola, I'm not sure how much you actually know about the "crime response" other than just assumptions.

bad DEI police chief hire.

Actually not what that was.

I posted something a few months ago about NOLA real estate struggling

Bought a house in 2024 and sold my old one all in about 4 four months.

I'm not trying to say everything is perfect, but Nola will continue the way it has been.
